[Attention Travelers] New Mainland China Roaming SIM Rule! Fail to do this before crossing, and you'll lose connection?

Starting from June 17, 2026, all roaming prepaid cards will no longer support activation within Mainland China.

💡 What this means & How to prepare: In the past, many travelers preferred to insert and activate their SIM cards only after crossing the border. Under the new policy, all Mainland China roaming SIMs must be activated while you are still in Hong Kong (or other destinations outside Mainland China).

• The Correct Steps: Insert the SIM card while in Hong Kong ➡️ Dial *103*800# to activate ➡️ Ensure it is successfully activated before crossing the border.

• What if you forget? If you try to activate the card after entering Mainland China, the activation will fail, leaving you completely disconnected and without internet access!
